Hello and welcome to Sturminster Marshall First School.

If you are looking for a small village school where muddy wellies are as welcome as polished shoes, you have come to the right place.

Our school may be small, but it is full of energy, warmth and personality. Everyone knows everyone here, and that means every child is seen,  heard and celebrated. We believe learning should be enjoyable, purposeful and sometimes a little adventurous.

Our Forest School is a much-loved part of school life. Children learn outdoors in all seasons, building dens, solving problems, working as a team and discovering that learning does not always happen at a desk. Alongside this, our enrichment opportunities, from traditional maypole dances,  lego clubs, sport practice to dance, drama and creative clubs, means there is always something new to explore.

We also understand that family life can be busy. Our wrap-around care runs from 7.30am until 5.30pm, offering a calm, happy start and a relaxed end to the day. Children spend time with familiar staff, enjoy a range of activities and make the most of unhurried time with friends.

As a village school, we pride ourselves on strong partnerships with parents and carers. Doors are open, conversations are friendly, and community

matters. When children feel safe, supported and encouraged, wonderful things happen.

Thank you for stopping by our website. If you would like a school where learning is lively, relationships are strong and children are encouraged to be curious, kind and confident, you will find a very warm welcome here.
